| Fletcher Wildlife Garden Weed Bee | | | Sunday, 12 August 2012, 08:30 - 12:30 | Fletcher Wildlife Garden
| Come on out and lend a hand to tackle Dog-strangling Vine — an invasive plant that chokes out native plants and leads to Monarch Butterfly death! Help us keep the Fletcher Wildlife Garden an urban habitat and haven for native plants, insects and animals. This is the first of 4 weed bees this summer: Sundays, July 8, July 15, August 12 and September 9. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Interpretation Centre at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden (map).
Learn to ID this green beast and use that knowledge to track it down in your own neighbourhood. By the end of the day, we promise that you will always recognise DSV! We need lots of help to pull out DSV, especially where it grows up other plants. We can't accomplish this work without many hands! We'll be starting in the Butterfly Meadow where we're creating a model Monarch Waystation, and progressing to other habitats in subsequent bees. Please help! | | | |
